Al McCoy is an award-winning, self-taught artist whose delightful, magical images depict a world viewed through the perspective of hope and optimism. The subjects of Al's paintings are represented in a style all his own. When asked to elaborate on the origins of his unique style, Al says, "It stems from the idea that there’s really no such thing as a bad day, only a bad attitude." "I have a lot of fun creating my artwork," he says, "especially all the little details I put into each piece." He invites you to step into his pictures, go for a stroll or just sit in peaceful repose. Al was raised in California. Following college, he served in the United States Air Force as an Electronic Intelligence Analyst in Japan for ten years. He returned to California after his time in the service to pursue a career in art. Al uses acrylic paints to produce his rich, vibrant colors. He has exhibited broadly and his work is held in numerous private collections. His artwork can be found at The Scene Gallery, Newport Beach, and Mesa Art and Framing Gallery, Costa Mesa. |
